What is your role at GoKart?
I am the Account Manager at GoKart, which means I look after our customers and make sure they are happy. Part of my role is to help our clients find ingredients, find suppliers and help them track their spend. You can think of me as a modern-day life jacket for restaurants.
Where did get your passion for the food industry?
I grew up in Asia where my love affair with food started in the busy streets of Tokyo. Wondering through the bustling, loud and colourful markets, I was adventurous enough to try all the weird and wonderful wriggling critters that the Japanese would hand out to passers-by. My lungs and I remember the smokiest yakatori hut you could imagine and it was made entirely of (very flammable) bamboo. So yes, super dangerous but totally worth it for the taste. You have NEVER seen more delicate manoeuvres go into food preparation. Food for the Japanese is not just for the soul, it’s pure mastery – it’s art.
What drew you to work with GoKart?
Food is my love and I’m GoKart’s account manager as hospitality is my passion. Having studied hospitality at Les Roches University in Switzerland, worked with breweries, and run my own pubs and bars – I could not imagine a more perfect role for me at GoKart!
